Hi my name is George Edwards and I am a student at The King's School Canterbury. I study engineering and as a result of a few of my projects, I have become engaged in the commercial world of manufacturing. Most notably, my AS Level Coursework, Gas - Sense was to produce a novel means of detecting the level of gas in a Calor gas bottle. The technology is Patent Pending and we are in licensing negotiations with a number of multi-national companies, looking to launch to product to a wide range of markets across the globe. See www.gas-sense.co.uk for more details. I have also built a range of other technologies, at varying levels of market readiness and commercialisation.
I also do some work on advising industry and British manufacturing on how to solve the coming skills crisis. I have given long and short talks to audiences small and large. My work has also taken me to Parliament, where my comments were quoted and debated. I have been cited in a number of Industrial Reports and work on several student based programs to connect education and employment.
